Gary Cooper from Imperial Preservation has been working in the heritage industry since 1986. Originally from the UK working on heritage buildings dating back over 1,000 years. Dealing with heritage plaster restoration and treatment of rising damp within churches, commercial buildings and domestic homes. Arriving in Australia in 1997 Gary was able to work on projects like the restoration of the post office at Martin Place in Sydney as well restoration work at the Sydney University, Maitland Town Hall, Morpeth Court House, Morpeth School of Arts and many more Heritage buildings. Gary has worked for a rising damp and heritage building restoration company in the UK for over 11 years and has run Imperial Preservation for over 29 years in Australia. Gary was awarded The National Trust Heritage (NSW) Heritage skills award for 2026. In 2022 Garys son ,Euan Cooper started learning his Heritage trade and is now applying his learning to the restoration of many old buildings.
Imperial Preservation deals with rectification of Rising damp, Heritage Lime render and plaster work, Sub-floor ventilation, Stone and brick mortar repair and Mould reduction works.
Our clients range from General public, Architects, Engineers, Builders, Councils and Charity organisations.
Imperial Preservation works in the Newcastle region, Hunter Region and the Central Coast areas.
